After the Symposium Tecnical and Touristic Tours will be organized starting from October 30, 2016.
Detailed Information regarding the Tours and Fees will be announced at TRCOLD Web Site.
All tours include transportation, accommadation, meals and entrance fees. Please make your reservation early as spaces are limited. Tours will also require a minimum number of participants and if not achieved, will be canceled.

TOUR – 1 KONYA REGION (KONYA PLAIN PROJECT, KPP)

Konya Plain Project (KPP) developed in Central Anatolia Region of Turkey consists of 17 major projects including 14 irrigation, 3 drinking water and 1 energy project. Within the scope of this tour Ermenek Dam with its 218 m height from the foundation which is the 22nd highest dam in the world and 7th in Europe and Bagbası Dam with its 115 m height from the foundation and Blue Tunnel (Mavi Tunel) will be visited. Besides in this three day technical tour the participants will be offered a chance to see Blue Regulator, Ahi Channel and Beysehir Regulator. Besides, the historical and cultural wealth of Konya Province which was the capital of Great Seljuk Empire will be presented to participants' appreciation as well. Bera Hotel in Konya provides the accommodation for participants. In addition Mevlana Museum which brings hundred of thousands local and foreign tourists to Konya and also other touristic sites will be visited.

TOUR – 2 ARTVİN REGION (CHORUKH PROJECTS)

Deriner Dam which has been constructed on the Chorukh River of Artvin province in the Northeastern Blacksea Region of Turkey and is the highest dam of Turkey, the 3rd highest dam of Europe and the 6th highest dam of the world with its 249 m height and 640 MW installed capacity, Artvin Dam which has 332 MW installed capacity and is 180 m at height, Muratlı Dam (asphalt faced rockfill dam), Arkun Dam (concrete faced rockfill dam) and Borçka Dam (clay core rockfill dam) will be introduced to the visitors during this tour. In addition, the construction area of Yusufeli Dam and HEPP Project which is still under construction and will, following its construction, be the 5th highest dam of the world among its own type with its 270 m height will also be visited. Moreover, the participants that will be accommodate in the DSI Guesthouse in Artvin province reserving all shades of green and taking firm steps towards being an alternative tourist destination with its virgin nature and protected historical assets will have the chance to visit Karagöl, Kafkasor Highland and Hatila Valley from the glass viewing platform.

Tour, participants will visit Big Melen Project which had been constructed in the aim of providing domestic water to İstanbul and Melen Dam which's type is roller compacted concrete Dam and height is 124 m. from foundation. They will also visit İstanbul's historical Dams and Waterways. In this Tour, accommodation will be in State Hydraulic Works' guesthouse and participants will find a chance to discover İstanbul's unique historical and cultural heritage in the places like Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet Mosque), Aghia Sophia and Topkapı Palace in the district called Historical Peninsula. Furthermore, monumental structures that draw the spectacular silhouette of Istanbul and the unique beauty of the bosphorus will be presented to the attention of participants with a boat trip.
